John DeVito
John has been with Santa Fe Properties since its inception in 1986. His natural tendency to be a problem solver and negotiator attracted John to real estate sales. In addition to being a “deal maker,” John brings a varied knowledge base to his profession. John has been a general contractor and developer since 1971, including 5 years as a residential/commercial and a bank building inspector. This experience gives John an understanding for the entire construction/development process, not just the resale end. Over the years, John has developed and maintained knowledgeable contacts in planning and development. John has managed developments and subdivisions for several out of state property owners, working closely with planners and attorneys concerning existing ordinance and upcoming legislature changes. John knows which questions to ask and where to get the most informed answers. When John is not working on a real estate project, you are most likely to find him fly fishing on some remote river, or with his Labrador Buckley.
Don DeVito
Don has been a licensed Real Estate Sales Person for 15 years primarily working in residential and undeveloped land. In addition, he has personally developed property in Santa Fe, San Luis Obispo and Santa Cruz counties and has extensive experience in working with a multitude of agencies, city and county offices. Don’s experience with Santa Fe dates back to 1968. Family and friends in various walks of life have made Santa Fe a rich place to be. Leaving the area for college, he has tried not to be away for too long at any one time. He eventfully earned a BS in Industrial Relations from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MS in Organization Development from Pepperdine. In addition to Real Estate, Don has worked for many years as an independent consultant specializing in Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness. Assignments and clients include managing Internet start-up over the last two years, Philips Electronics while living in Holland over several years, Ford Motor Company, Harley-Davidson, American Honda, LightPointe Communications, Sun, HP, Loral, TRW, NASA and others. He also has joint venture experience including US technology companies, the Korean space agency, Taiwanese space agency, and Main Land Chinese companies. “The corporate career was great and it’s nice to be off an airplane and home.” Giving back to the community is important with over twenty years of volunteering for the American Cancer Society, urban and community development organizations, and the arts.
